Hey there good people. So July is my birth month and as I do every year, I have been updating my Amazon Wish List. This year I have decided to include a handful of items that will take my get fit journey to another level. Since I know a lot of our readers are also on a journey of their own – I thought I would share some of my favorite items that are on my list. See below for just some of the items that I recently added.
I already have a FitBit Zip that I received for Christmas and I really, really love it. The wristband will take my health & wellness journey to the next level! I like that the HR tracks when you’re going up stairs (since my building doesn’t have an elevator), your heart rate and your sleep. Aside from all the cool things that this baby tracks – I am absolutely in love with the color of it! So not only is it useful, it is fashionable as well!
Fitbit Aria WiFi Smart Scale
I currently do not own my own scale and seem to have a difficult time deciding which one to purchase. Since I am on a FitBit high I thought why choose one that tracks and loads information right to my account via WiFi? Plus it is black (just imagine if it was Tangerine! HA!) – I like the sleek design and doesn’t look like your average scale. Why not weight yourself in style?
It wasn’t until I joined a gym last year – and asked for some workout tips from an employee – that I even knew what a foam roller was for. I have a family member that got one once they started physical therapy. I just assumed that people with injuries or problems needed them. BOY WAS I WRONG. It is one of the greatest things I ever discovered (in regards to health and wellness) and I wish I had started using one years ago. When I was much, much younger I used to be fairly flexible, however, I now have all types of knots and stiffness all over my body. Insert foam rollers.
My first time ever using one was the most uncomfortable (see: painful) experiences. However, immediately after it my muscles felt loose and ready for whatever was coming next. I keep telling myself that I am going to get myself one and this particular one caught my eye. I like how firm it looks since I have seen some that don’t look like they would withstand anyone over 100lbs rolling their bodies over it. This particular one supports up to 325lbs and they also have one that supports up to 500lbs. I also like that it has a multi-density surface to help break up those nasty knots in my body. I think this would be a perfect addition to my home workout routine. P.S. It helps to prevent injury! Ask your trainer or physical therapist to show you how to properly use them!

I enjoy doing yoga at home, however, sometimes I like to go to the beach, a friends house or somewhere else so I have to carry my yoga mat with me and to keep my hands as free as possible I think these yoga mat slings would be very useful.

Gaiam Yoga Mat Cleaner Spray
Speaking of yoga mats – just like other equipment that you use when working out it is a good idea to keep them as clean as you can. Sweat and dirt can collect on them and cause it to not only look filthy but can also make nasty germs stick to your mat. The more often you use it, the more often you should think about cleaning it. I would suggest after every use to really keep it clean and free of gunk and germs.
