So back in October my lovely bosses offered to pay for my gym membership. They wanted my co-worker and I to get healthy and as long as we stuck to going to the gym at least 10 times a month they would pay for it. We took selfies at the gym to stay accountable. It was a fantastic opportunity and I had just been thinking about joining a gym but I was working less (see, less $$) so it didn’t quite fit in my budget. I hopped on that opportunity like white on rice!
Any who, fast forward to now… Even though I had every intention of going at least 10+ times a month there were many months that I did not make it to even 5. I was adjusting to being in school – I took 3 classes instead of 2 this semester and two of them have been stressful. I also for some reason kept getting sick and to top it all off I was having all these car issues. Let’s just say there were a bunch of hurdles.
Things are now better (for the most part) and I have found myself doing things to get in extra steps and working out when I can here and there. Now that I switched to a gym that is literally around the corner from me it is so much easier to get there. I plan on going there at least 3-5 times a week and so far it has been going well.
If you are starting an exercise program consult your physician and start slowly. Summer is right around the corner and if you have an access to a pool that is great low-impact exercise that nearly anyone can do. My main point is – you gotta move it if you wanna lose it!
Check back in a couple months to see my progress.
