When I work out I normally just pull on an old t-shirt and lounge shorts. There’s nothing too fancy about the outfit; my mindset is that I’m about to get active and super sweaty so why try to put so much effort into it? But this past Friday I found myself wandering into the Active section of Old Navy and see if I can find something cuter than a gray shirt with set-in oil stains. It’s possible that I was moved by their 40% off sale but I digress.
I ended up ordering the clothes on Old Navy‘s website instead of buying them in store. Since Old Navy doesn’t carry plus sizes in their stores I had to go that route to make sure I get clothing that actually fits. I was excited to get my package this afternoon and stopped everything to try most of it on.
First pieces I ordered were sports bras. I’m pretty top heavy so I wanted to find a bra that can hold my chest in place. I saw the Max Support Sports Bra in the store and saw they offered for plus sizes online. I ended up getting two of the Max Support Plus-Size Sports Bra and crossed my fingers that they wouldn’t be too small.
The size I ordered wasn’t too small nor too big. Actually, the bra fitted me well by my chest bounced more than I preferred. I have other sports bras that kept my chest in place. You can’t even shake them when I wear the bras; they’re just that strong. I do like that the bras come with removable padding so if I don’t want them I can take them out. Another plus with these bras is that they have convertible straps-you can wear them with a racerback if you like. This makes me a bit more secure with all the bouncing my chest does.
The next items I ordered were pants. I admit I looked more at colors than the style and fit of the pants when picking these. I ended up ordering a petite pair, a plus pair, and a women pair of Old Navy‘s compression pants. A large reason why I ordered online was I wanted a certain print and they didn’t carry it in the store. Guess which one I really wanted!
All three pairs fit me, even the petite pair that was a size smaller than my preference. The plus size pants fit great on the upper legs but were baggy on the calves. I’ll just roll them up and wear them as crops. Problem solved!
My favorite fit out of the three are the crop pants on the right. They just seem to glide on and be super easy to move in. They also come with a pocket in the waistband on the back of the pants, so you can put stuff in. Since the pants are super thin I think the pocket is perfect for an ID and debit card.
I also got these sleeveless tops. I haven’t tried these on, but I own a ton of Old Navy shirts. Normally their Women XXL size fits me fine without being so tight so I didn’t bother put them on. I already know they’re going to be a great fit!
In conclusion, I’m liking these clothes from the Old Navy Active line. I’ll probably get more of their compression pants in the future but for now, I’m going to start exercising in these and hope they can last awhile.
